The three stripes represent the three 'GUNAS' and referred to as 'Tripundra' in Sanskrit.
The three gunas are central to Ayurvedic science, as they provide a deeper understanding of our mental and spiritual nature.
My business name 'whitestripes' comes from a Guru I practiced yoga with, who used to have 3 stripes across his forehead when doing devotional practices.
I have been teaching yoga since 1985.
Teaching Diploma (British Wheel of Yoga - BWY)
Diploma Course Tutor (BWY)
Pregnancy Yoga qualification (BWY),
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Diploma awarded by John Scott (200hrs Yoga Alliance).
My career, prior to retirement, was working as a Nurse mainly in Operating Theatres as an Anaesthetic Nurse.
Following retirement I was fortunate to open a Yoga & Complementary Health Centre in Preston City called 'The Mandala'. After 8 years and hard work, it was time to hand over Mandala and enjoy my retirement! Emma Lowther-Wright now manages Mandala and is taking the business forward in caring for the Community: www.themandalapreston.com
